High quality teacher education is essential for high quality education. Currently, teacher education needs to address multiple challenges such as providing civic education in multi-cultural societies in which values are highly contested; nurturing students’ emotional well-being in a competitive reality; and reducing gaps in achievements while socio-economic differences are continuously increasing. Dealing with these challenges requires innovative conceptualizations and practices.
We are pleased to announce that Dapim, the MOFET Institute’s peer reviewed journal, will publish a special issue in English dedicated to innovation in teacher education. Dapim publishes original papers in Hebrew on theory, research and practice in teacher education and professional learning, and is accessible online. The special issue will be available for free for authors as well as readers.
We will be happy to receive papers on initial teacher education, teachers’ and teacher educators’ professional development, innovative teaching methods, social justice, equity and multi-culturalism. Participants of “The 7th International Conference on Teacher Education: The Story of Innovation in Teacher Education” that took place at the MOFET Institute in June are warmly welcome to submit proposals.
